Martin Carthy Martin Carthy on Limited Edition 180g LP

Martin Carthy’s very first solo album was released in 1965 on the Fontana label. It immediately set the standard for serious guitar players the world over and, in the 50 years between then and now, has become a touchstone record for singers and performers across all genres. One of the album’s highlights is Carthy's stirring rendition of the traditional English ballad "Scarborough Fair." His arrangement was famously adapted by Paul Simon for the lead track of Simon & Garfunkel's 1966 album Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme, but the original here remains the definitive version.
