Noun Throw Your Body On The Gears And Stop The Machine With Your Blood on LP
Second Solo Album from Screaming Females Marissa Paternoster!
Throw Your Body On The Gears And Stop The Machine With Your Blood is the second solo album from Marissa Paternoster of Screaming Females under the moniker Noun. Paternoster may be best known as the guitarist and singer of Screaming Females, but she's also been recording solo music under the moniker Noun since she was a teenager.
"I began recording on my own around somewhere towards the end of high school, around 2004," she explained. "I used my Father's laptop and recorded everything with a Yamaha keyboard my friend laeft in my basement and the built-in microphone on the laptop. I was too embarrassed to sing in front of people, and I didn't have anyone to play in a band with, so I just sat in my Grandma's basement for hours and hours writing and recording songs."
By the time Marissa started college, she had around 40 songs recorded, which she sometimes burned to CD-Rs, packaged with xeroxed artwork, passed around to kids at Rutgers, and mailed to friends or people who emailed asking for the songs (a Noun song appearing on a local compilation was actually what led Paternoster to meet Screaming Females drummer Jarrett Dougherty).
