N.W.A. 100 Miles And Runnin' EP on Limited Edition LP
UMe's Respect The Classics Campaign Reissue with Limited Edition Lenticular Cover!
In the course of little more than three years, N.W.A. reached unprecedented gangsta superstardom with their no-holds-barred missives from Los Angeles’ toughest streets. Defining the style that came to be known as "gangsta rap," N.W.A. propelled the genre into an expanded musical realm and topped the charts with their own challenging and illuminating style of rhymes unprecedented in their brutal reality over complex, funk-fueled tracks. "The World's Most Dangerous Group" spawned three of the most important figures in gangsta rap’s evolution: the late rapper Eazy-E, street lyricist extraordinaire Ice Cube and mega-producer Dr. Dre.
Originally released in 1990 on Ruthless Records, 100 Miles And Runnin' is a platinum certified EP N.W.A. issued in between their first two genre defining full-length albums Straight Outta Compton (1988) and Niggaz4Life (1991), and first effort sans Ice Cube who left to pursue a solo career. Most of the record's five tracks - "100 Miles And Runnin," "Just Don't Bite It," "Sa Prize (Part 2)," "Real Niggaz" and "Kamurshol" - find the remaining members as explicit and controversial as ever while taking direct aim at Ice Cube for his absence as often as possible.
Continuing with its Respect The Classics campaign and in support of the 2015 N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton, UMe will be reissuing 100 Miles And Runnin' back on LP with a limited edition 3D lenticular cover.
