Peter Broderick Docile on LP + Download
2008 Album Out of Print for 8 Years!
On the evening of May 6th, 2007 Peter Broderick sat down at a piano and performed a collection of ten solo piano compositions that would be released by a small Swedish label in 2008 as Docile. Since then, these simple, luminous tracks have defied the gravity of his extensive repertoire and found their way into the
hearts of thousands.
Featuring the fan favorites "Ceasefire" and "Begin," Docile is a distillation of Peter's pure musicality. The compositions, recall the poise of Erik Satie's Gymnopedies, and the minimalism of Philip Glass.
Broderick has proven himself to be a murcurial, elastic and provocative musician occupying stages and label rosters with Nils Frahm, Dustin O'Halloran and Olafur Arnalds. His manifold explorations and vocal timbre have led keen observers to point out a special kinship with experimental composer, cellist, tragic legend Arthur Russel.
