Call To Confirm Colored Copies Are Still Available
Another set of harsh, avant-garde, post-punk from John Lydon's post-Sex Pistols group, Public Image Ltd.'s third album The Flowers Of Romance was originally released in 1981. While Metal Box/Second Edition was characterized by throbbing bass tones and violent guitar scrapes, The Flowers Of Romance is much more drum and synthesizer heavy. This was the result of bassist Jah Wobble getting kicked out of the band prior to the recording (for stealing PIL rhythm tracks for his own solo material) and guitarist Keith Levene becoming more and more obsessed with synths. Perhaps the most uncompromising PIL album and another classic post-punk title reissued on colored vinyl by 4 Men With Beards.
