Purple Silence And Remorse on LP
Purple is the moniker of Berlin-via-Portugal artist Luis Dourado, a core member of the rising Wedidit collective (RL Grime, Shlohmo). His debut EP Salvation introduced the world to his signature hazy, dark and emotionally driven sound, Pitchfork crowned the lead track "The Club" a "sonic gem" and Fact described follow-up "Feel Alone" as "striking." It was shortly followed by the Salvation Remixes EP that featuring friends Shlohmo, IVVVO and Jim-E Stack.
In addition to his musical explorations, Luis has established himself as a lauded visual artist. His work has been published in various renowned publications such as The New York Times Magazine, collaborated with publishers such as Gestalten and exhibited his series in galleries such as the esteemed Arnolfini in England. Needless to say, Luis’ love for the visual arts significantly shapes the music he creates and the two will forever remain deeply intertwined.
His debut album, Silence & Remorse, sees him exploring his talent as a singer and delving deeper into his innermost emotions and personal struggles, examining themes of lost love and lurking feelings of regret along the way.
