Queensryche Frequency Unknown on LP
25 years after the Mindcrime revolution, Queensryche returned in 2013 with their 13th studio album, Frequency Unknown – a new chapter in the epic saga of one of the most critically adored and commercially successful metal bands of all time. Vocal powerhouse and frontman Geoff Tate leads the heaviest incarnation of the Rÿche yet here including longtime guitarist Kelly Gray plus newly acquired bassist Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot) and drummer Simon Wright (AC/DC, Dio).
The hard hitting 10-song set features guest appearances by K.K. Downing (Judas Priest), Chris Poland (Megadeth), Ty Tabor (King's X), Paul Bostaph (Slayer), Brad Gillis (Night Ranger), Dave Meniketti (Y&T) and more. Also appearing on the album is bassist Jason Slater, who worked on several previous Queensryche projects with Tate including Operation: Mindcrime II and American Soldier. Slater co-wrote some of the songs on Frequency Unknown with Tate and also serves as the album's producer.
"I think that the idea of having guest appearances evolved from the time constraints we had imposed on the project," states Tate. "And I must say that I was humbled by the enthusiasm and excitement of all the players that contributed."
