Quicksand Slip on Colored 180g LP
Call To Confirm Colored Copies Are Still Available
Founded in 1990 by frontman Walter Schreifels, Quicksand rose to notoriety in the '90s, with many dubbing the band a key pioneer in New York City's post-hardcore scene. Their debut self-titled EP was followed by two major label albums, Slip and Manic Compression. The band would eventually disband in 1999, but recently reconvened in 2012 for a reunion tour.
In honor of Slip's 20th Anniversary in 2012, SRC remastered the album and pressed it on vinyl for the first official reissue of Quicksand's major label debut since its original pressing in 1993. Includes a cover of The Smith's "How Soon Is Now."
"Slip is a taut mix of staccato crunches, fluttering harmonics, chiming bass notes and Walter Schreifels' strained, strung-out vocals. The music was as blunt, efficient and businesslike as their song titles (Unfulfilled, Head to Wall, Dine Alone), and sweats pent-up stress, discontent and frustration with a disconcertingly crisp directness." - BBC
