Sandy Denny 19th Rupert Street on 180g Import LP
19 Rupert Street was the house in Glasgow where Scottish folk singer Alex Campbell lived and also where Sandy Denny recorded these songs. Recorded on a home tape machine, the 13-song collection of primarily folk standards showcases Denny in a relaxed atmosphere singing with accompaniment from just acoustic guitar and occasionally by Campbell himself.
The 1967 session is unique in that it includes performances of a number of songs that Sandy never recorded in a studio including John Martyn's "Fairytale Lullaby" and the traditional cut "The Leaves of Life." The intimacy of these basic recordings truly shines through as does Denny's wonderful voice. 180g audiophile vinyl with full color insert from Music On Vinyl.
