Scorpions Blackout on 180g LP
Remastered in Celebration of the Band's 50th Anniversary!
1965 marks the starting point of one of the most successful rock bands of our time. Hailing from Hannover, Germany, the Scorpions embarked on a journey that would lead them around the globe and would establish them as one of the greatest rock bands of all time. With the November 2015 release of the 50th Anniversary Deluxe Editions, the Scorpions celebrate their impressive achievements and open their vaults to unleash hitherto unreleased songs, alternative versions of big hits, rough mixes and rare live concert footage. The remastered LP formats are released on 180-gram vinyl in a sleeve replicating the first pressing.
Released 1982, Blackout finally elevated the Scorpions into the top ranks of the hard rock world. While the album made it to No. 10 in the Billboard charts, the first single "No One Like You" did even better and went straight to No. 1. On Blackout, the Scorpions strike a near perfect balance between raw and dynamic hard rock and their very own brand of beautiful power ballads.
The album has it all, sheer aggressiveness, razor sharp guitars, powerful emotions and outstanding melodies. Thanks to heavy rockers such as "China White," "Now" and "Dynamite," the Scorpions became very popular not only with the traditional melodic hard rock crowd but also with the emerging heavy metal scene of the early-80s. The success of Blackout turned them into global superstars. And to top it off the outstanding music was matched by the iconic cover-artwork created by the Austrian artist Gottfried Helnwein.
