Oglio Records is pleased to reissue the first four full-length albums - from groundbreaking all-female Japanese pop-punk trio Shonen Knife - on vinyl in September 2016 including Burning Farm (1983), Yama-no Attchan (1984), Pretty Little Baka Guy (1986) and 712 (1991). Formed in Osaka in 1981 after hearing late ‘70's punk-pop particularly The Ramones, the band went on to craft their own idiosyncratic songs, fashion signature brightly colored outfits and record a number of DIY albums which made fans of alt-rock's elite like Sonic Youth, Nirvana, and Redd Kross. They're credited with making the international pop underground more international by opening it up to bands from Japan. A wonderful starting point, Burning Farm is the group's official debut studio effort, chock full of charming and catchy songs mostly sung in Japanese.
"When I finally got to see them live, I was transformed into a hysterical nine-year-old girl at a Beatles concert." - Kurt Cobain
