T. Rex Futuristic Dragon on Limited Edition 180g Import LP
One of the most popular British bands of their time, T. Rex spearheaded the glam-rock movement, a genre owing everything to its quintessential superstar, Marc Bolan. Driven by simple grooves, effortless hooks, trippy vocals, and fat guitars, their music was infused both with hippie spirituality and raw sexuality.
Demon Records is thrilled to announce the monumental reissue series of the T.Rex catalog - from 1972's The Slider through to 1977 swan song Dandy & The Underworld - on heavyweight 180g vinyl. The reissue series also includes the records Tanx, Zinc Alloy, Futuristic Dragon and Bolan's Zip Gun, all lovingly restored to the original sleeve replications (di-cut & gatefold sleeves included where required) and cut from the latest digital remasters.
1976's Futuristic Dragon is reminiscent of Bolan's days as a late-60s underground cult hero, and so is the artwork, illustrated by David Bowie's long-time pal George Underwood, who was responsible for the fantastical painting that appeared on the first Tyrannosaurus Rex cover back in 1968. Includes two of Bolan's best-loved hits, "New York City" and "Dreamy Lady."
