The Afghan Whigs 1965 on Limited Edition 180g 2LP w/ Bonus Tracks
Founded in Cincinnati, OH in 1988, The Afghan Whigs have long stood out from their peers, with a savage, rapturous blend of hard rock, classic soul, and frontman Greg Dulli's searing angst and obsessions. Originally issued in 1998, the exuberant 1965 is the band's sixth full-length effort and final album before a sixteen year hiatus. Primarily recorded at Daniel Lanois' Kingsway Studios in New Orleans, the alternative-rock meets Motown sounding affair is surely a product of its environment, self assured and soulful in all the right places, no better than on standouts like "Somethin' Hot," "Uptown Again," and "John the Baptist." This deluxe Music On Vinyl edition comes complete with 7 bonus tracks (previously issued on the Somethin' Hot and 66 EP's) and an 8-page booklet.
