One of the longest running and still active Rhythm & Blues bands from Holland, The Bintangs were founded in 1961 by brothers Frank and Arti Kraaijeveld. In 1966 they were a warm-up act for The Rolling Stones during their concert in Den Bosch and in 1967 they performed the same duties for The Kinks. Blues On The Ceiling is the band's debut album, originally released in 1969 on the Decca label. The auspicious 11-track effort showcases their raw sound and finds the band covering formative influences like Howlin' Wolf ("Smokestack Lightning"), Muddy Waters ("Louisiana (Blues)," "Still A Fool"), Willie Dixon ("Three Hundred Pounds Of Joy," "My Babe") and Bobby Womack ("It's All Over Now") with aplomb.
