The Contours Do You Love Me on 180g Import LP
Original Album And Bonus Track!
In 1960, Berry Gordy Jr. signed a talented group of vocalists called The Contours as one of Motown's first acts. Throughout the decade, the group charted eight hits, including Motown's first million-seller and its fastest-rising hit of all time, "Do You Love Me." In 1988, after the song was famously featured in the movie, Dirty Dancing it roared back on the charts, outselling its original performance many times over. But before that it anchored The Contours 1962 album Do You Love Me (Now That I Can Dance), their lone LP for Motown, which was also home to the band's early singles "Shake Sherrie," "Whole Lotta' Woman" and "The Stretch." Vinyl Passion is pleased to reissue the original 11-track album complete with the bonus cut "Come On And Be Mine."
