The Fall Sub-Lingual Tablet on Limited Edition Import 2LP
31st Studio Album featuring Exclusive Vinyl Mixes!
Set for release on Cherry Red Records, Sub-Lingual Tablet is The Fall’s 31st studio album and follow-up to 2013's Re-Mit. Featuring all the trademarks of a great Fall record, it comprises 11 tracks and is being released on limited edition double vinyl with different mixes from that of the CD. The current Fall line-up includes: Mark E. Smith (vocals), Peter Greenway (guitar), Elena Poulou (keyboards/vocals), and David Spurr (bass), Keiron Melling (drums) and Daren Garratt (drums).
Mark E. Smith on Sub-Lingual Tablet to NME: "This one took quite long, about four or five months, but it's all relative. Tour managers think I'm quick because they've worked with New Order and it took them about five years. I know when an album's good now, and this one is great."
The Fall is noted for its prolific output: in addition to the studio albums they have released more than triple that, counting live albums and other compilations. Founded by its only constant member, Mark E. Smith, The Fall formed in Manchester in 1976 and has existed in some capacity ever since. Musically, there may have been several stylistic changes over the years, but it is often characterized by an abrasive guitar-driven sound and frequent use of repetition, always underpinned by Smith’s distinctive vocals and often cryptic lyrics.
