The 24-Carat Black Ghetto: Misfortune's Wealth on Limited Edition Import LP

Ghetto: Misfortune's Wealth is the 1973 Stax debut and lone album released by The 24-Carat Black until the lost album, Gone: The Promises Of Yesterday, was issued 35 years later. Ghetto: Misfortune's Wealth is an underground soul classic, a cohesive 8 song concept album about the hardship of black urban life, produced and arranged by classically trained Detroit song writer Dale Warren, who was an orchestrator and arranger on the Isaac Hayes' albums Hot Buttered Soul, The Isaac Hayes Movement and ...To Be Continued among others. The material on Ghetto: Misfortune's Wealth has been a hit among samplers for decades and has been used on songs like: Jay-Z's "Can I Live Pt 2," Dr. Dre's "Nas Is Coming," Eric B's "In The Ghetto," Digable Planets' "Cool Like Dat" and Naughty by Nature's "Poverty's Paradise" among others.
