Vektor Outer Isolation on Limited Edition LP
Vektor is most easily classified as a thrash metal band, but they also incorporate elements of progressive rock from the '70s and science fiction from the '80s. Though they’ve been around in different forms for over a decade now, the rest of the world is finally catching up to their unexpected take on the sound. Guitarist and vocalist David DiSanto started the band 2002 in Arizona, eventually crystallizing the lineup with guitarist Erik Nelson, bassist Frank Chin and drummer Blake Anderson in time for their scene setting Heavy Artillery 2009 debut Black Future and its fantastic 2011 follow-up Outer Isolation.
Fast becoming one of the underground’s hottest names, Vektor has emerged as one of the few genuinely innovative young thrash bands around, marrying a conceptual take on a bleak, alien future world with an aggressive, yet somehow thought provoking full frontal thrash assault. Both of the band's full-length albums are now being reissued on limited edition vinyl courtesy of Earache Records who acquired the Heavy Artillery catalog in 2012. With the new wave of thrash now well into it's middle age, an attitude of complacency has become common place amongst once vibrant and pioneering bands, so there is no better time for Earache to make Vektor's recorded output available to the masses.
