The Wailing Souls Inchpinchers on LP
Legendary reggae roots originators The Wailing Souls date back to the late 1960s. Vocally trained by Bob Marley and the Wailers' teacher, Joe Higgs, the group fused the harmonies of Motown with the roots and dancehall sounds of reggae, working with iconic producers like Coxson Dodd, Henry 'Junjo' Lawes, Channel One Studios, Delroy Wright, King' Jammy's, as well as recording several early tunes at Tuff Gong Studio.
In other words, The Wailing Souls' recording career has been nothing short of historic. For the 1982 follow-up to their 1981 masterwork Fire House Rock, The Wailing Souls brought back the same Henry "Junjo" Lawes/Roots Radics dynamic duo with more of the same stellar results. Highlights include a blazing recut of their classic 1974 hit "Things and Time" and the booming "Baby Come Rock" which became a sound system favorite.
