The Ortofon Super OM5e incorporates aspects of the renowned analog company's higher-end models into an entry-level MM phono cartridge that delivers levels of linearity, channel separation, and low-distortion playback rarely associated with its cost.
Equipped with split pole PINs that reduces magnetic loss at the treble regions, Super OM5e offers excellent frequency range responsiveness and tonal balance. An elliptical stylus that translates into excellent tracking, a Noryl body for high rigidity, and a removable weight plate tucked into the mounting bracket for easy tonearm matching help round out this excellent value.
If you have a standard tonearm, leave the supplied weight plate on the cartridge. If you have a low-mass tonearm, simply remove the weight; the mass will now be a mere 2.5g.
