THE DOORS
Founded in Los Angeles in 1965, The Doors altered rock history with trailblazing hit singles and epic, mind-bending albums. Lead singer Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger, and drummer John Densmore created a catalog that has been a wellspring of inspiration for fans and musicians around the world. Morrison's charismatic performances and poetic lyrics made him one of the most revered yet mysterious rock icons of all time. The band's accolades include sales in excess of 100 million albums, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The Doors found their mojo in November 1970 as they recorded L.A. Woman over the course of six days at their rehearsal space on Santa Monica Boulevard. A commercial and critical success, the album contains some of The Doors' most enduring music, including the Top 20 hit "Love Her Madly," the atmospheric audiophile favorite "Riders on the Storm," and the classic title track. This deluxe edition, with a 180g vinyl LP and 3 CDs, features the original album newly remastered by The Doors' longtime engineer and mixer Bruce Botnick, two bonus discs of previously unreleased studio outtakes, and the stereo mix of the original album on vinyl.
