Loaded with HDMI ARC, optical, coaxial, USB-B, and analog inputs, plus 12v trigger ports and dual subwoofer outputs, X9 seamlessly integrates with a wide range of setups. It even doubles as a desktop-system preamplifier, offering stunning control and immense flexibility. A pair of XLR analog outputs abet RCA outputs for even more versatility, while a USB-A port for firmware updates and USB-C input run the gamut. Support for up to DSD512 and 32-bit/768kHz PCM puts high-resolution audio at your fingertips. 

Equipped with an unbalanced 6.3mm and balanced 4.4mm headphone ports, the 8.2-pound X9 automatically measures the impedance of your connected ‘phones and recommends the most suitable output gain setting via bypass detection technology that renders no negative impact on sound quality. A balanced XLR4 socket further ups the ante, while unique HP-EQ technology applies real-time hardware-level EQ adjustments based on your headphone model’s frequency response — effectively enabling a sonic signature closely aligned with the ideal Harman curve. More than 2,500 models are already supported in the database. Another asset: Advanced digital crossed and adjustable soundstage, each implemented digitally to avoid distortion and coloration. 

Inside, X9 has the audiophile-grade goods that matter. With a super-low ripple of 40nV, its motherboard has a star-shaped voltage distribution circuit that separates analog and digital power paths. Its AK4499EX DAC gets stabilized by an OPA1612 op-amp for reference-level solidity and accuracy. Speaking of the latter. X9 touts a THD+N rating of -120dB, testifying on behalf of its clarity, resolution, and full-range dynamics. Every stage — from signal-input decoding to LPF filtering and R2R volume control — is powered by a fully differential circuit. In other words, true full balance. 

Also onboard: Premium red WIMA capacitors; gold-plated aluminum electrolytic capacitors; high-grade green non-polarized capacitors; 0.1% low-temperature drift resistors; gold-plated connectors; and OCC silver-plated cables. They work in tandem with a fully balanced R2R volume-control circuit that enables left-right channel balance adjustments with an accuracy of 01.dB and hand-picked femtosecond clock. 

Measuring 2.56 x 11.81 x 8.11 inches (HWD), X9 also boasts cool features you might now expect. To wit: Dynamic Negative Feedback, which uses the OPA1612 and TPA6120A2 combination, that drastically reduces harmonic and intermodulation distortion. Smart Control via the automotive-grade RTOS, which supports both remote and wireless control, and allows for easy OTA updates. A dynamic VU meter that captures the real-time fluctuations to give you a graphic representation of what you hear. Choose from 10 different meter styles to customize your experience. And a defeatable, four-inch full-color touchscreen for high-definition display that looks fantastic in combination with the diamond-cut bevel front panel and CNC-machined aluminum chassis.
