Bikini Kill Revolution Girl Style Now on LP + Download

1991 Demo Tape Remastered & Available on Vinyl for the First Time!

Feminist punk pioneers, Bikini Kill, are set to reissue their first collection of work, Revolution Girl Style Now in September 2015 via Bikini Kill Records. Featuring the three previously unreleased tracks "Ocean Song," "Just Once," and "Playground," the rare early demo tape from the infamously fierce, riot grrrl band is also being offered on vinyl for the very first time.

The Revolution Girl Style Now demo tape was originally self released in May of 1991. The demo was recorded by Pat Maley at the ABC House in Olympia, WA earlier that year. Bikini Kill played one of their first shows at the house the night before and left their equipment set up to record the demo the next day. The songs were mixed by Guy Picciotto (Fugazi)and mastered by John Golden for this reissue.

Based in Olympia, WA and Washington, DC, Bikini Kill formed in 1990 and broke up in 1997. Kathleen Hanna sang, Tobi Vail played drums, Billy Karren (aka Billy Boredom) played guitar and Kathi Wilcox played bass. Sometimes they even switched instruments. Bikini Kill is credited with instigating the Riot Grrrl movement in the early-90's via their political lyrics, zines and confrontational live show.
