Full Details

Following the hugely successful reissues of Whipped Cream & Other Delights and Christmas Album, legendary musician Herb Alpert will reissue four more classic albums from his illustrious career on 180g vinyl including South Of The Border (1964), Going Places (1965), What Now My Love (1966) and Rise (1979). Grammy-winning mastering engineer Bernie Grundman, who was the original mastering engineer on many of the original Tijuana Brass and Alpert albums, mastered and hand cut all four of the new vinyl reissues using a specially designed lathe.

The sound of the Tijuana Brass proved as ubiquitous – and profitable – as that of the best known music makers of the era, on a par with the Beatles, Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. Hit singles and albums seemed to pour out effortlessly on the A&M label, as Alpert continued to craft the Tijuana Brass sound. Issued in April 1966, What Now My Love held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Album chart for nine weeks, longer than any other Tijuana Brass album, and the title track garnered two Grammy Awards.
