1980's Influenced Eighth Studio Album Produced by Don Was!

Sob Rock is eighth studio album from 7x Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter John Mayer and the artist's first since 2017's The Search For Everything which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart. Launched by the 1980s-esque lead single "Last Train Home" featuring Maren Morris, the 10-track collection was produced by Mayer and Don Was and recorded at Los Angeles' Henson Studios. "I asked myself, ‘What music makes me feel like everything's going to be OK?' And it's the music I listened to growing up in the ‘80s. There's a security-blanket aspect about that sound that reminds me of a safer time," Mayer told the Wall Street Journal.
