Jurassic 5 is a revered Los Angeles hip-hop collective featuring Akil, Zaakir, Marc 7, DJ Nu-Mark, Chali 2na, and Cut Chemist. Their first release, the Jurassic 5 EP (1998), solidified them as a force to be reckoned with within the genre with hit tracks like "Concrete Schoolyard" and "Jayouy."

Two years later, J5 dropped Quality Control (2000), which peaked at No. 43 on the Billboard 200, achieved gold status, and introduced the group to the masses worldwide. Tracks like "Quality Control," "Jurass Finish First" and "Swing Set" became the group's signature sound.

Diverse third studio album (second on a major label) Power In Numbers spawned the smash hits "Day at the Races," featuring Big Daddy Kane and "What's Golden," which led the band to their first late-night television performances on Conan O'Brien and David Letterman. Continuing with its Respect The Classics campaign, UMe will be reissuing this classic back on vinyl for the first time in almost 10 years.
