The Early Years Vol. 1 is a revealing 13-song collection of unique recordings from 1971-1972, captured prior to the time that Tom Waits signed with Elektra/Asylum and released his debut album Closing Time. Includes early versions of Closing Time cuts like "Ice Cream Man," "Virginia Avenue," "Midnight Lullaby" and "Little Trip to Heaven" and an additional nine songs never re-recorded for any other Waits album. These recordings are absolutely not available on any other Waits album - making this package a must-have for any serious - or even casual - Waits fan. Reissued here on 180g vinyl.
