Lil Wayne is a Grammy Award-winning rapper from New Orleans. He rose to fame in the late 1990s as a member of the group Hot Boys under Cash Money Records. His 2004 album Tha Carter and its sequels (Tha Carter II, III, IV, V) solidified his status as one of hip-hop’s biggest stars. Tha Carter III (2008) was especially influential, featuring hits like “Lollipop” and winning the Grammy for Best Rap Album.
