Pig Pen is a hardcore band formed by longtime friends from the Niagara scene, including chef/restaurateur Matty Matheson (vocals), Wade MacNeil (Alexisonfire), the Romano brothers (Daniel & Ian), and Tommy Major (Young Guv). Born during the pandemic out of a shared love for classic ’80s hardcore, the band wrote and recorded their debut album, Mental Madness, in just two days. Out June 27 via Flatspot Records, the record is a raw, noisy, and emotionally intense burst of hardcore energy exploring themes of mental health, isolation, and self-doubt—balanced by the camaraderie and joy of friends simply making something loud together.
