Audiolab - 7000CDT CD Transport
Full Details
Read-Ahead Digital Buffer, Differential Line Driver-Fed Coaxial Output, Accurate Crystal Oscillator, and Aluminum Chassis Help Put the Audiolab 7000CDT CD Transport on a Value-Laden Pedestal
The differences you'll hear when you switch from an all-rounder playback component to one strictly made for CDs come into clear focus with the Audiolab 7000CDT transport. Equipped with a high-precision optical system, it uses a read-ahead electronic data buffer to reduce disc-reading failures, ensure accuracy, and help play discs that might be scratched and unreadable by other models.
To ensure seamless operation and signal purity with your external DAC, 7000CDT feeds its coaxial output from a differential line driver. Its master clock is controlled by a high-accuracy crystal oscillator, so that digital output from both coaxial and optical sockets to exhibit extremely low levels of jitter.
When it comes to resonance control, a low-friction loading tray, sturdy aluminum base, and chassis address vibrations that stem from the mechanics of a high-spin-velocity motor. To further guard against interference, the transport is mounted in its own electromagnetically shielded enclosure with a dedicated power supply. These features all contribute to the exemplary digital signal extraction.
Augmented with a dedicated USB-A input for digital-file compatibility, the 12.1-pound 7000CDT sports an all-aluminum chassis. Its front-panel features cleanly arrayed operational buttons and a 2.8-inch IPS LCD screen with crisp GUI. A remote control and three-year manufacturer warranty also come standard, further upping the value quotient.
