Tune into a Higher-Quality CD Transport: TEAC PD-505T Features Craftsmanship-Quality Build, Enhanced CD-5020A Mechanism, Semi-Floating Design, Discrete Power Supply, and External Clock Input
Experience the difference an in-house-designed CD transport mechanism based on the revered CD-5020A makes for your disc collection with the TEAC PD-507T CD transport. Once you hear it play a disc, everything about its high-grade construction, advanced technology, and craftsmanship-quality design makes complete sense. Here's a fantastic opportunity to hear your favorite discs with a newfound sense of transparency, detail, soundstaging, and involvement. When paired with a high-end DAC of your choice, PD-507T helps transform discs into escapist experiences. A supplied remote control invites you to enjoy everything from the comfort of your chair.
Bolstered with upgraded mechanical construction and fine-tuned circuitry compared to the prior model, PD-507T features a semi-floating mounting structure for open tonality and mounting system that prevents vibrations from caused by the spindle motor and actuator from ever reaching the chassis. A slow feedback loop that controls the spindle motor and a BTL circuit that does not generate switching noise further the commitment to presence and precision. Moreover, a discrete power-supply circuit with a toroidal transformer laden with triple secondary windings and triple rectifier circuits independently power the audio circuit, CD drive and microcomputer, and display to keep noise to a practically immeasurable level. Separate power supplies for each clock and digital output? Here, too.
For the internal clock, TEAC chose a low-phase-noise crystal oscillator prized for outstanding phase noise characteristics. PD-507T also comes with a 10MHz external clock input for those who want to take the performance to an even higher level. Trigger input/output terminals increase the flexibility with other components. And purists, take note: You can even turn off unused digital inputs on PD-507T.
On the exterior, an all-metal enclosure resists footfalls and other vibrations, such as electromagnetic noise generated by computers and other devices. PD-507T is finished off with a semi-floating top panel and 8mm-thick aluminum side panels that provide a strong, robust form factor that also fits almost anywhere — including on desktops or side tables. TEAC’s proprietary, stainless-steel Three-Point Stressless Isolation Feet with three support points loosely connected to the bottom of the chassis — based on the concept that by allowing the feet to vibrate freely, more natural and richer reverberations are achieved — round off the 3.32 x 11.4 x 9.8-inch (HWD) device.
