Description

Nonmagnetic Core and Redesigned Coil Armature Anchor Audio-Technica AT-ART9XA Dual Moving-Coil Phono Cartridge: Free of Magnetic Distortion, Plays with Superb Accuracy

Providing superb spatial representation, accuracy across the frequency spectrum, and terrific energy, the Audio-Technica AT-ART9XA moving-coil phono cartridge features a nonmagnetic core as well as a redesigned coil armature for 0.2mV output – a significant figure for a design of its type. Free of magnetic distortion, it leverages a Shibata stylus, 0.28mm-diameter solid boron cantilever, neodymium magnet, permendur yoke, and hybrid body to play back vinyl LPs with involving emotionalism, detail, and dynamics.

As one of the company's only flagship ART (Audio-Technica Reference Transducer) models, AT-ART9XA counts dual moving coils built from PCOCC wire aligned in an inverted "V" shape for exceptionally wide responsiveness and remarkable clarity. Logistically, threaded cartridge-mounting holes help make installation easy and hassle-free, while its machined aluminum base supports both the magnetic circuit and vibration system for requisite stability.

"AT-ART9XA has fantastic macrodynamic punch.... I very much enjoyed my time with these two cartridges [the Audio-Technica AT-ART9XA and AT-ART9XI]. The most important endorsement I can give them is that while they were in my system, I don't think I listened to digital music on my home stereo system at all. I exclusively spun records and couldn't wait to listen to more of them. My digital audio experience was limited to my desk at work, and I just wanted to get back to the turntable. Audio components that can do that are worth your trouble and your money."
