Acclaimed Marvel Now Has MM Phono Preamplifier: 24-bit/96kHz DAC, aptX Bluetooth Streaming, and Connectivity Make NAD D 3020 v2 Hybrid Digital Integrated Amplifier a Budget-Friendly Sensation
The original NAD 3020 amplifier changed the landscape for audiophiles on a budget. Redesigned with even sleeker aesthetics and a high-grade MM phono preamplifier, NAD's D 3020 v2 hybrid digital integrated amplifier is doing the same. A great-sounding amplifier first, D 3020 v2 also comes equipped with an asynchronous 24-bit/96k DAC, aptX Bluetooth for wireless streaming from mobile devices, digital and analog inputs, a fantastic-sounding headphone amplifier, preamplifier output, and much more. Coaxial and optical inputs allow a plethora of digital sources to be connected, while analog inputs up the flexibility. It's no wonder The Absolute Sound calls it "a small miracle of packaging and portability."
Ready to make beautiful music with digital sources, computer audio, vinyl LPs, and more, D 3020 v2 drives loudspeakers to satisfying levels without adding noise or distortion. And its highly efficient design wastes less energy resulting in cool running and longer life. Supplied with an IR remote control, D 3020 v2 is equally at home on a desktop, book shelf, or cabinet. But we think it deserves to sit on a pedestal for its incredible performance and affordable price. 100% Music Direct Satisfaction Guaranteed.
"If computer audio is your primary source for music, and Bluetooth capability is a must, then the D 3020 makes a compelling argument. The other argument is, hello, its price tag of $499, making it by most standards a small miracle of packaging and portability..."
– Neil Gader, The Absolute Sound
"This was the most fun I've ever had with hi-fi. More than just a great value, the D 3020 is made to provide lasting enjoyment. In an ideal world, it would even be a sort of status symbol."
– Stephen Mejias, Stereophile
Connect Anything You Like
D 3020 offers inputs for your digital and analog sources. Coaxial and optical inputs allow many different digital sources to be connected, from CD and DVD players, to set-top boxes, media streamers, or satellite and cable receivers. Analog inputs extend to a sophisticated MM phono input for vinyl playback. Far from just another set of sockets, it includes highly accurate RIAA equalization, an Infrasonic Warp Filter, and both high overload margins and extremely low noise. A pre-out adds increased connectivity in the output stage.
Reinventing an Icon
By adapting to today's media sources and using state-of-the-art digital technology for the digital music, 3020 puts a modern spin on a revered icon. The original designer of 3020, NAD's Director of Advanced Technology, Bjorn Erik Edvardsen, has been pivotal in developing D 3020 for a new generation. Offering an excellent 24-bit/192kHz DAC with eight channels mixed to two for improved resolution, D 3020 v2 represents the same kind of value-bending innovation that gave the original 3020 its legendary overachieving performance.
Genuine Audiophile Performance and Wireless Streaming Ability
NAD rewrote the rules for amplifiers when designing the original 3020. Instead of letting laboratory test equipment have the last word, the company ensured sure it could properly drive real loudspeakers. D 3020 v2 lives up to this promise through a unique implementation of NAD PowerDrive (developed by Edvardsen) that allows low-impedance drive (current) and high dynamic power (voltage) at vanishingly low distortion levels. This refinement, combined with a precision soft clipping circuit, lets D 3020 v2 sound even more powerful. An innovative Bass EQ circuit helps small speakers sound big without overdriving or damaging ported woofers. D 3020 v2 also delivers the convenience of wireless streaming with its Bluetooth capability. Stream music from a smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
Sound That Surpasses Measurements
Power output may sound small at 40W per channel, but like that of all NAD amplifiers, this number is very misleading as a properly designed 40W amplifier can sound superior to a 100W amplifier from a lesser brand. With its small form factor, D 3020 v2 will astound many for its ability to drive difficult loudspeakers to satisfying levels without adding noise or distortion.
Mean and Green
D 3020 v2's highly efficient design wastes less energy, requiring only 20 percent of the power needed by traditional amplifiers. It's like trading in a gas guzzling car for a hybrid vehicle. Standby power consumption is a miniscule <0.5W. NAD has taken amplification to new lows, with lower distortion, lower noise, and lower power consumption. NAD's major focus is to find new technology that improves musical performance while consuming less power and using fewer non-renewable resources.
