A flagship preamplifier that operates with nearly unmeasurable noise, it delivers exhilarating and instantaneous power, and renders music with sublime realism, naturalism, and emotionalism. Handcrafted in Japan, C-10X features high-performance preamplifier circuitry that confidently drives the power amplifiers connected in the following stage and control-center functionality that adjusts the environment of your entire  system. The 15dB preamplifier gain allows distortion-free handling of a wide range of levels from various input sources. In addition to a variety of output mode switching functions that allow you to select unbalanced, balanced, or bi-amplified configuration, you can use the volume shift function in 0.5dB steps via the electronically controlled attenuator LECUA-EX volume control system. This invites you to adjust left and right balance (L: -6dB to R: -6dB) without causing deterioration, adjust the level for each output system in bi-amp mode (±6dB for each system), and adjust the output level for different listening situations.

To provide the abundant energy that comfortably drives the power-amplifier stage within sufficient margins, the C-10X power-supply section contains a CI core type power transformer and seven custom-specified 3,300 μF filter capacitors to achieve dedicated, highly stable smoothing for each channel. Clean and stable regulation suppresses voltage fluctuations due to load. All C-10X audio circuit boards use a 100 μm-thick, non-resistive, gold-plated, peel-coated substrate that eliminates the resistivity coating that  adversely affects sonics due to dielectric effects. And an original, non-angled wiring pattern achieves smooth, stress-free signal transmission by keeping the trace width of the signal line as constant as possible.

Directly connected to the LIFES circuitry, the LECUA-EX volume control combines a high-precision rotary encoder with a cutting-edge weighted rotation mechanism to achieve high reliability and tactile feel as you rotate the large, machined aluminum knob over 192 discrete steps from 0 to 95.5dB. The aluminum C-10X remote control is as equally inspired. Ditto the electronically controlled bass/treble controls, volume-linked loudness function, and external pre-input that can directly link to an AV amplifier’s pre-output. A balanced connection phase preset function? It’s here, too. 

Visually, the 5.1 x 17.3 x 17.1-inch (HWD) C-10X hits all the right notes — and then some. Its three-dimensional loop-less metal chassis sings with an exquisitely machined, hairline-finished aluminum top panel, blasted white front panel, and density gradient cast-iron feet. On the front, the fluorescent display has a dimmer function and, if you so choose, you can blow up the volume display to four times its normal size. Looking to the back panel, input and output sections boast  27mm pitch RCA terminals and Neutrik XLR terminals.
