The Michi X5 Series 2 integrated amplifier is devised from top to bottom to deliver high-end separates-quality performance and flexibility from a single unit. Conceived by a team of British and Japanese engineers who worked without a rushed deadline to ensure everything remained on point, this Class AB beast exemplifies innovation and care in every circuit, audio path, and component within its 7.625 x 19 x 17.75-inch frame. Outputting 350Wpc into eight ohms (and 600Wpc into four ohms), X5 Series 2 drives speakers with relative ease and contains the connections you need for a thriving audio system — now, and in the future.

Powered by dual, shielded, in-house-manufactured, low-noise, toroidal transformers that feed a bank of four parallel-aligned 22,000uF high-efficiency storage reservoir capacitors, the 96.6-pound X5 Series 2 uses linear power supplies to isolate drive current critical to both the analog and digital circuitry. Such architecture results in a supremely low noise floor and exceptional control, particularly when it comes to low bass frequencies — as well as stunning finesse, clarity, and dynamics. Also inside? An ESS SABRE ES9028PRO eight-channel DAC that dedicates four channels each to the left and right signals, accounting for superb timing and massive soundstages. 

When it comes to hooking up gear to the Roon-tested X5 Series 2, you’re covered. XLR balanced and analog RCA inputs, an MM/MC phonostage, plus seven digital inputs that extend to aptX HD Wireless Bluetooth, coaxial, and optical invite you to go to town. The PC-USB input supports up to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD 11.2MHz. Full MQA decoding is also here. Ditto a front-panel 6.35mm headphone input for private listening sessions. 

Ready for nearly limitless configurations, X5 Series 2 also comes with pre-amp outputs, dual-mono subwoofer outputs, IP and RS232 control ports, and two 12V trigger outputs that significantly contribute to its versatility and ability to grow with your setup. Two sets of dual five-way Michi-designed platinum-plated binding posts that welcome bi-wiring complete the rear panel. 

Beautiful and sleek from every angle, X5 Series 2 visually struts its stuff via a sleek aluminum chassis with an elegant dark-black glass front panel and clean lines. On the dimmable TFT high-res display, you can choose to view a peak power meter or spectrum analyzer during listening sessions.
