Think You Need Separate Components for Reference-Grade Sound? The U.S.A.-Built Pass Labs INT-250 Integrated Amplifier Proves Otherwise and Plays with Stunning Refinement, Depth, and Emotionalism
For many music lovers, the only reason they’d get separate components over the Pass Labs INT-250 integrated amplifier is merely because they want to. Such is the advanced level of refinement, warmth, accuracy, spaciousness, and emotionalism delivered whether you’re listening to Mozart or Metallica. Rich textures? Defined separation? Delicate nuances? Gobsmacking crescendos? Grace, depth, dimensionality, and in-the-moment realism? All a reality, in spades.
Measuring 9 x 19 x 21.5 inches (HWD) and weighing 105 pounds, INT-250 outputs 250Wpc into eight ohms. It doubles its power output into four and two ohms, meaning driving no speakers is off limits. Hand-built in Pass Labs’ California factory, INT-250 represents high-end American craftsmanship at its finest. Made on a per-order basis, each INT-250 may require a wait time of eight-to-10 weeks.
Mirroring the aesthetic of the larger Pass Labs power amplifiers, INT-250 features a central blue meter that keeps track of the output stages’ bias current. Moving from the center zone, the INT-250 transitions out of Class A, operating in class AB mode. While many listeners may never push your INT-250 this far, rest assured the reserve power is there if and when you need it.
Visually and practically, the .75-inch-thick aluminum front panel adds to the elegance of the INT-250 and helps reinforce chassis rigidity, contributing to lower mechanical noise. Its balanced design keeps electrical noise to a minimum as well. On the back, two balanced XLR inputs and three single-ended RCA inputs invite you to connect what you need. You also get a set of RCA and XLR variable outputs, so if you have a subwoofer and or use a bi-amped system, you’re covered. There’s even a separate chassis ground for REL subwoofer owners.
Leveraging the strength of multiple MOSFETs, INT-250 crosses a performance line that used to be reserved for separate components and eliminates guesswork about choosing a preamplifier that will have seamless synergy with your power amplifier. This an end-game component for all but the most fanatic audiophiles. 100% Music Direct Guaranteed.
“The Pass Labs INT-250 is a world-beater of an integrated amp that delivers the sex appeal of a true audiophile component, with the highest level of audiophile pedigree.”
