Analogue Productions' Prestige Mono Series

Mastered by Kevin Gray from the Original Mono Master Tapes

In 1956, drummer Art Taylor formed a group called Taylor's Wailers that included Donald Byrd (trumpet) and Charlie Rouse (tenor saxophone). This 1957 Prestige release, finds the group joined by Jackie McLean (alto sax) on five of the album's six songs including the two Thelonious Monk compositions "Well, You Needn't" and "Off Minor" while Taylor leads a line-up of John Coltrane (tenor saxophone), Red Garland (piano) and Paul Chambers (bass) in a separate session on Jimmy Heath's "C.T.A."
