Oscar Peterson Trio West Side Story on Hybrid SACD from Analogue Productions

Mastered by George Marino at Sterling Sound

This excellent 1962 Verve Records date finds the supremely talented trio of Oscar Peterson (piano), Ray Brown (bass) and Ed Thigpen (drums) offering up Norman Granz-produced jazz adaptations of Leonard Bernstein/Stephen Sondheim composed material from the then recently released iconic 1961 musical West Side Story. The consummate 7-song set features inspired takes on such iconic fare as "Somewhere," "Jet Song," "Tonight," "Maria" and "I Feel Pretty" among others.

"...these are all truly classic Verve titles that you simply don't want to miss...most importantly, the sound of these reissues is nothing short of astounding." - Danny Kaey, Positive Feedback Online
