There is not a country in the world that doesn't know the names of Boy George and Culture Club. One of the biggest acts of the '80s, the Grammy Award winners sold in excess of 100 million singles and over 50 million albums in that decade alone. They achieved a staggering seven straight Top 10 hits in the UK and nine Top 10 singles in the US.

Culture Club's 1982 debut Kissing To Be Clever put the band on the world's stage and turned flamboyant frontman Boy George into a giant star. With its trio of international hits "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me," "Time (Clock of the Heart)" and "I'll Tumble 4 Ya," they became the first group since The Beatles to have three Top Ten hits from a debut album.

By the time their second album Colour By Numbers was released in autumn 1983, Culture Club were the most popular pop group in the world. Scoring no less than five hit singles including the transatlantic No. 1 smash "Karma Chameleon," and "Church of the Poison Mind," the album dominated the charts for a full year both in the US and in Europe, and was only kept off the US No. 1 spot by Michael Jackson's record-breaking Thriller.
