With a body of work spanning seven decades, Deep Purple has helped pioneer and define the hard rock genre while progressively moving into new arenas along the way. For 1973's Gold-certified Burn, Purple founders Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Paice and Jon Lord recruited the amazing vocal talents of rising new comer David Coverdale (Whitesnake, Coverdale/Page) and power bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes (Trapeze, Black Sabbath, Hughes Turner Project, Black Country Communion) for what turned out to be one of their finest albums.
