DIIV's New 2024 Studio Album Frog in Boiling Water on LP.

Produced by Chris Coady and written by DIIV (pronounced Dive), Frog in Boiling Water, the band’s fourth full-length LP is a collection of snapshots that explore the brutal realities of end-stage capitalism and overwhelming technological advances. Across 10 dark and dazzling tracks, DIIV documents the collapse from various angles with unusual sensitivity and depth of purpose while expanding their grand, hypnotic shoegaze to create a transportive, sensual work of hope, beauty and renewal.

DIIV gained attention with their debut album, "Oshin," released in 2012. The album received positive reviews for its ethereal and atmospheric sound, drawing comparisons to bands like My Bloody Valentine and The Cure. Zachary Cole Smith's hazy vocals and the band's intricate guitar work contributed to their unique sonic identity.

Despite early success, the band faced challenges, including personal issues within the members. Smith's struggles with substance abuse were well-documented, impacting the band's trajectory. Nevertheless, DIIV released their sophomore album, "Is the Is Are," in 2016, which continued to explore their signature sound.

DIIV has undergone lineup changes over the years, with Zachary Cole Smith remaining a consistent presence. The band's music often explores themes of introspection, addiction, and personal growth, reflecting Smith's own experiences. Their style has evolved over time, incorporating a variety of influences while maintaining a dreamy and atmospheric core.
