Lee ‘Scratch' Perry offered up some of his most spaced-out work on his Grammy winning 2002 comeback collection Jamaican E.T., a groovy affair which created a bridge between dub, roots and hip hop. But in the end it never ventures to far away from his traditional reggae sound. Continuing Perry's fascination with aliens, drugs and religion, his voice is often multi-layered here in contrast with the other. Jamaican E.T. is a wonderful record that firmly displayed that even after all those years Perry was still capable of producing cutting edge reggae music!
