It's been 15 years since Long Beach Dub Allstars disbanded, but now, after a lengthy hiatus, the group continues their path of musical evolution and the legacy they started with Sublime with a back-to-basics approach. The band's first new music in nearly two decades, the self-titled Cameron Webb (NOFX, Mad Caddies) produced effort is 10 tracks deep and harnesses the feel-good vibrations and the SoCal musical roots of the band's past, a musical melting pot of reggae, ska, dub, hip hop, and punk. Jack Maness stated, "We're doing some of the things that we're true to and we're also expanding into some other stuff." Opie Ortiz comments on the LP's lead single:"['Youth'] is a song that was inspired by gun violence today with our youth. The song was built on a progression written by Jack and then the hook was something that my brother Philieano spit years ago and I thought it was amazing, so it just stayed with me. Ed and Devin rallied around the hook and together we wrote a more serious song."
