One of the greatest Mahler conductors and one of the best Mahler orchestras united for only two concerts in October 1979. And it turned out that these performances of Mahler's 9th Symphony were a one-time event, the only cooperation ever between star conductor Leonard Bernstein and the glorious Berliner Philharmoniker. Their interpretation became legendary, and when 13 years later its recording was finally released on CD it was rewarded with many prizes, including two Grammy Awards. Now this special event will for the first time be available on vinyl (2LPs), mastered from the original sources and presented in 180g pressings with artwork based on the original release.
