With a revamp in management, label and a couple of band members, Megadeth unleashed the furiously strong offering The World Needs a Hero in 2001. It debuted at No. 16 on the U.S. Billboard charts and was marked as a welcome return to Megadeth's more heavy metal roots in the mold of the band's classic albums Rust In Peace and Countdown To Extinction. Dave Mustaine's focused musical vision is fiercer than ever and the razor-sharp guitar shredding, snarling vocals and spitting scepticism cut like an out-of-control laser. Back on vinyl (180g 2LP) for the first time in 18 years, the full album has been newly remastered by Ted Jensen (Guns N'Roses, Mastodon, Trivium & Machine Head).
