A fascinating paradox defines Echoes Of The Inner Prophet, Melissa Aldana’s follow-up to her acclaimed Blue Note Records debut as leader, 12 Stars. As the GRAMMY-nominated saxophonist and composer explains, her new album reflects her “personal journey with an especially introspective point of view. The inner prophet is my own self, now older, who has the knowledge and the intuition and the truth about what my path should be."

Co-produced by Aldana and Lage Lund, the album features the tenor saxophonist with Lund on guitar, Fabian Almazan on piano, Pablo Menares on bass, and Kush Abadey on drums.The 8-track set of original compositions includes 6 new pieces by Aldana that seek profound truths through introspection, intuition, and self-reflection including the opening title track which is dedicated to Wayne Shorter.

Aldana is known for her innovative compositions, pushing the boundaries of traditional jazz while maintaining a deep respect for its roots. Her music often reflects a fusion of different influences and cultural elements.
