Steamin' with the Miles Davis Quinet Reissued for Prestige Mono Reissue Series on 180g LP: Cut from the Original Analog Master Tapes by Kevin Gray and Pressed at Quality Record Pressings

The Miles Davis Quintet of 1955-'57 was a phenomenon that left many jaws dropping. At their exuberant, full-throttle best, the group simply had so much to offer: Coltrane's raw, edgy – at times endless – tenor improvisations. Garland's fiery, left-hand chording. Philly Joe's exciting cymbal work and propulsive rim shots. Miles' subdued, muted trumpet. Chambers' adept and soulful bowed solos. Their 1961 Bob Weinstock-produced release Steamin' is yet another triumphant set. Highlights from the 6-song collection of standards include fiery takes on "Salt Peanuts" and "Well, You Needn't" among others.

Part of the Prestige mono reissue series from Analogue Productions, this 180g LP is mastered from the original analog master tapes by Kevin Gray, pressed at Quality Record Pressings, and housed in a deluxe high-gloss tip-on album jacket.

"...Steamin' is the warmest sounding of the lot, with wonderful textures and detail. It also has the most relaxed and easy feeling of these titles, even when the band is smoking on tunes like the bop classic 'Salt Peanuts.'"
– Wayne Garcia, The Absolute Sound
