On Gary Burton's debut release on Mack Avenue Records, Common Ground, the Grammy®-winning pioneer of the four-mallet technique of playing the vibes not only delivered his first studio album since 2005, but also introduced his latest band.

Gary Burton has played a significant role in the development of jazz fusion and is known for his innovative work with the vibraphone. Burton has collaborated with numerous jazz legends, including Chick Corea, Pat Metheny, and Keith Jarrett, among others. His collaborations with Chick Corea, in particular, produced several acclaimed albums.
