Smash is a generous helping of guitar power-pop from Orange County, CA hard-core punk act Offspring. The group's power here is in writing anthemic guitar rock that effortlessly slips from genre to genre. From the Middle-Eastern surf guitar on "Come Out And Play" to the humorous ska-flavored "What Happened To You?" to the sing-along guitar riff in "No Self Esteem," the Offspring's 1994 triumph couldn't have been titled any better. Smash still holds the record as the biggest selling indie release of all time, with over twelve million albums sold worldwide; six million in the U.S. alone. Here it is re-mastered, with every metallic power chord and sing-along chorus the way it sounded in the studio!
