Straight reissue of American gothic metal band Type O Negative's most commercially successful record, October Rust. The album includes tracks "My Girlfriend's Girlfriend," "Love You to Death" and their classic Neil Young cover of "Cinnamon Girl," on 140g colored vinyl 2LP.
The album showcases the band's signature blend of gothic atmospheres, doom-laden riffs, and darkly humorous lyrics, punctuated by Peter Steele's unmistakable deep vocals. Touching on themes of mortality, despair, and existential angst, October Rust is a haunting exploration of the human condition, wrapped in Type O Negative's unique sonic envelope.
Type O Negative formed in Brooklyn in 1989 by Peter Steele (lead vocals, bass) along with childhood friends Kenny Hickey (guitar, backing vocals), Josh Silver (keyboards, backing vocals), and Sal Abruscato (drums, percussions), who was later replaced by Johnny Kelly. They signed to Roadrunner Records and released their debut album Slow, Deep and Hard in 1991.
